Licences are per use, not per asset

A track licensed for a personal video is not licensed for an ad, and a stock image licensed for a blog post may exclude print or merchandise. The same file carries different permissions depending on where it appears.

The guard asks for asset type and intended use together, because either alone produces the wrong answer.

Free-tier gotchas

Free plans commonly restrict commercial use, require attribution, cap downloads, or forbid use in certain contexts. These limits are written in the terms, not on the pricing page.

The safe default when the terms are ambiguous is to use a source with an explicit commercial licence, even if it costs money. One claim costs more than a year of the subscription.
